Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation

Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation

The foundation was established after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain and is intended to promote cooperation and European development based on freedom, democracy and market economy by means of enlightening and informing political parties and organisations about democracy and European integration.

During its first years the foundation focused its work mainly on countries nearby: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the St. Petersburg area. Later the work was expanded to other countries and regions. Today we are active mainly in the Balkans, the Caucasian region and Eastern Europe.

The Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation is an organisation close to the Moderate party with the purpose to contribute to the development of a well-functioning party system and to promote a representative form of government.

The Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation practises zero tolerance against corruption. Read more about our anti-corruption policy here.
